I’m a pretty avid user of delicious and looking for ways to use the service beyond just storing my bookmarks. Just the other day as I finally returned to thinking about this blog, I made the mental connection between the sites that I bookmark and the purpose of this blog. That is, many, or most of the sites I bookmark are teaching-related. As i looked into it, what I found was the ability to post my delicious links to this blog as a post, which you should be seeing around this post. I found the instructions by searching the edublogs forum (thank you to the questioner and answerer that provided this info!). Basically it involves using the experimental features in delicious by going to Settings- Blogging-Blog Posting (as pic’d below)

You then have to enter all your settings, which takes a little know-how, which takes some digging and patience. Hopefully, this will fill in the gaps between my quite infrequent postings. An unfortunate side to this (and perhaps someone knows a work-around) is that sites I mark for personal use will also be listed. There won’t be anything that off-key, though.

I’ve discovered two different Internet radio websites, Pandora and Last.fm. What makes these different, and what I really like, is that you subit a favorite artist or song, and the ‘radio’ plays similar artists along with your favorite. As it plays, you can let it know whether you like it’s choice, or not, in which case it skips that song. Last.fm takes that concept and adds a layer of social networking to it. With a free account, you choices are tracked, you can add tags to songs, comment on artists and their music, and intereact with other listeners. Last.fm has pages for the various artists where you can listen to samples, and charts.

technorati tags:pandora, last.fm, internet radio

Here I hope to gather the resources and information on technology that may be relevant and useful (or at least interesting) to librarians. I’m working on my Googlepage, fr3dt3ch, where I’m listing resources by categories. Much of what I’m into delves into “web 2.0″, but I’ll be trying to stay grounded in the reality of public school technology.

Much of my information comes from what I read about in others’ blogs. See my Bloglines blog, Freducational Technology, and check out “My Blogroll” (if you’re interested) until I get them all linked here.
